Liv Walker Releases Unforgettable Sad Raver

Rising UK singer-songwriter Liv Walker releases a brand-new single, “Sad Raver,” blending elements of electro-pop, classic breakbeat, and rave into an alluring sonic concoction.

Explaining the song, Live shares, “I wrote ‘Sad Raver’ about someone I met once but will probably never come across again. ‘Sad Raver’ tells the story of a person stuck in a place far behind a world that has long since moved on. Things are constantly moving and changing at great speed; It’s easy to be left behind if you don’t move with the times! Those times are all gone now but you can’t say goodbye ‘cos you’re a sad, sad raver.”

She goes on to add, “Everyone is or could be a ‘Sad Raver.’ Although a sad raver is so obvious to the outside eye, the person themself is so consumed by the lifestyle that they’re trapped in a loop and can see no more.”

From West London and only 18 years old, Live Walker started writing songs at the age of 13, capturing images of teenage tribulation, calamity, and the thrill of new love, as well as the ache of love slipping away. Citing influences such as Alicia Keys, Angie Stone, and Erykah Badu, she’s poised on the brink of breaking out in a big, big, way.

“Sad Raver” opens on a crisp drum shuffle flowing into a low-slung, creamy electro-pop melody riding a relaxed yet potent rhythm. Glowing colors stream on wavering tendrils of dreamy hues as Liv’s delicious, gilded voice imbues the lyrics with sad nostalgia, narrating the tale of the Sad Raver who’s “out of synch with the world.”

A vocal-filled drop backed by soft emerging layers of sound provides an intimate hiatus, exuding elusive wistful surfaces. Then the tune resumes its velvety tide of indulgent washes.

Highlighted by the opulent, rich timbres of Liv Walker, “Sad Raver” delivers glossy textures atop a marvelously contagious rhythm.
