Tiger Woods reveals ownership of TGL team; 15-time majors champion joins Jupiter Links GC roster

Tiger Woods will lead the sixth and final TGL team, the Jupiter Links Golf Club, as a member of the ownership group and the first player named to the team’s roster, the new golf league announced Tuesday. Here’s what you need to know:

  • The other five TGL teams are Atlanta Drive GC (led by Falcons owner Arthur M. Blank), Boston Common Golf (led by Fenway Sports Group), Los Angeles Golf Club (led by Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams and Venus Williams), TGL New York (led by Mets owner Steve Cohen) and TGL San Francisco (led by an Avenue Sports Fund group which includes Marc Lasry and Stephen Curry).
  • Woods is the latest golfer to be committed to a specific team. Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott and Tyrrell Hatton have also joined teams.
  • TGL’s inaugural match will debut in prime time on ESPN and ESPN+ on Jan. 9. The second match will air a week later on the same platforms.

What they’re saying

“Through its use of technology, TGL is a modern twist of traditional golf and ultimately will make the sport I love more accessible. Having the opportunity to not only compete, but also own a team to represent Jupiter is an exciting next chapter for me.
